Internet Research Group Initiates New Research Los Altos, Calif., September 4, 2003 Internet Research Group (IRG) today announced the publication this month of a new market research and analysis report on the growing market for application security and protection.
"The secure perimeter is a notion of the past – VPNs and firewalls alone provide neither sufficient protection nor functionality," noted Peter Christy, co-founder of IRG. "It is no longer very meaningful to think of people as inside or outside the network – more and more employees and business partners access applications from the outside (via the Internet) while at the same time more and more threats are posed by improper internal uses. That changing world, compounded by the increase in government regulations and the value of on-line assets is ushering in a new class of security functionality – Application Protection Subsystems."
This new study, titled Application Protection Subsystem Market Report: Reengineering Application Security, will detail the functionality, technologies and market requirements that enterprises consider most important as they re-configure their application access and security.
This evolving category of products and services—what Internet calls the Application Protection Subsystems Market—will be one of the most lucrative future networking markets. The need for these products crosses many enterprise and government market segments and is a key requirement as IT managers implement security for new and existing applications.
The study will be available in October, 2003. A perspective for this study can be found can be found by clicking here.
