Publishes New Report on End Point Security – The Network Admission Control
Market Landscape Report
Los Altos,
Calif., January 9, 2005 – Internet Research Group (IRG) today
announced the release of its latest study -- Network Admission Control
Market Landscape Report -- an analysis of 28 vendors of NAC offerings. The
included five-year market forecast shows the market growing from around
$100M in 2005 to over $1B in 2010. The report analyzes the installed market
share for the leading vendors. 28 vendor offerings and strategies are
detailed, including Cisco (NAC), Microsoft (NAP), and Juniper (Infranet
Controller). With real customer demand, this is one of the most rapidly
growing categories in the security business.
“2006 will be a pivotal year for Network
Admission Control,” noted Peter Christy, co-founder of IRG. “In 2005, many
enterprises tested and piloted NAC and the vendors worked to understand the
pain and price points. In 2006 we expect the market to begin to really sort
itself out.”
“With the increasing importance of the
network and diminishing value of traditional perimeter defenses, a new
networking security category is emerging that holds great promise,” said
John Katsaros, co-founder of IRG. “Our research has found that enterprises
need NAC products to apply security policies and build network boundaries
around all users.”
The vendors covered in this report are:
Apani Networks, Applied Identity, BlueSocket, CAYMAS, Check Point, Cisco
Systems, ConSentry, ENDFORCE, Elemental Security, Enterasys, ForeScout,
FunkSoftware, Identity Engines, Intelli7, IP3 Networks, Juniper Networks,
LockDown Networks, MetaInfo, Microsoft, Nevis Networks, Permeo, Secure
Elements, Senforce, StillSecure, Symantec (Sygate), Tipping Point, Vernier
Networks and ViaScope.
The study is available now. A table of
